Graduated responsive hammer ii (rhc ii)
The new Responsive Hammer Compact II (RHC II) mechanism has been developed to reproduce the distinctive touch of an acoustic grand piano.
The keyboard’s weight is calibrated to reproduce the heavier bass hammers than the treble hammers, and the smooth, matte texture applied to each black and white key enhances playability and feel.
As with other Kawai digital piano action systems, the Responsive Hammer Compact II uses a triple-sensor system for highly accurate hammer velocity detection. The RHC II features a springless mechanism for a smooth, natural playing experience.
Despite its light, compact design, the RHC II mechanism allows experienced pianists to play fortissimo with power and certainty, while delicately and naturally controlling the softest pianissimo passages.
Shigeru kawai sk-ex and ex concert reproduced with progressive harmonic imaging sound technology
The ES520 digital piano captures the rich, expressive sound of the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX and Kawai EX concert grand pianos.
Each of the 88 notes of these exceptional instruments has been meticulously recorded, analyzed and faithfully reproduced, thanks to Progressive Harmonic Imaging™ sound technology. This unique process precisely recreates the original wide dynamic range of grand pianos, offering pianists an extraordinary level of expressivity, from the softest pianissimo to the boldest fortissimos.
The integrated « Virtual Technican » function lets you shape various features of these acoustic pianos at the touch of a button, adjusting the resonance of strings and dampers, with the subtle natural sounds of hammers, keys and dampers. This custom piano sound is further enhanced with atmospheric reverb effects, delivering a rich, vibrant tone of breathtaking realism and authenticity.
A wide range of additional instruments
In addition to acoustic piano sounds, the ES520 also offers a wide selection of additional instrument sounds, from electric pianos, jazz and liturgical organs, string ensembles, choirs… inviting musicians to add a wider variety of sounds to their performances.
In addition, the Dual mode lets you superimpose two sounds, such as grand piano and strings, while the Split and FourHands modes divide the keyboard into two independent sections. Volume balance and other settings for each mode can be adjusted in real time, quickly and easily, using the dashboard controls.
Professional accompaniment styles
With a variety of styles ranging from pop and rock ballads to jazz-funk and Latin cadences, the ES520 digital piano’s rhythm section function offers musicians a choice of professional arrangements for solo accompaniment, at the touch of a button. What’s more, the 100 predefined chord progressions and One Finger Ad-lib ™ solo phrases allow musicians to breathe life into their repertoire, while retaining control of each performance.
Integrated Bluetooth audio/midi connection
In addition to MIDI jacks for connecting another instrument, the ES520 digital piano boasts Bluetooth MIDI and Audio technology, enabling the instrument to communicate with intelligent devices wirelessly.
When connected to a smartphone, tablet or computer, owners of the ES520 digital piano will be able to enjoy a whole range of music applications, enhancing their learning and playing experience, or stream their favorite songs or videos wirelessly through the instrument’s amplification.
Connectivity options
The ES520 digital piano features a wide variety of standard connection options, with line-out outputs enabling the instrument to be used in all conditions, such as in a church or classroom. Standard MIDI and USB To Host plugs offer connection flexibility when used with a computer or other instrument, while the Jack Line-in connection provides a method of mixing audio from a laptop, tablet or other digital instrument.
